Answers Bible Curriculum Unit 14

Discover What Your Child is Learning

Answers Bible Curriculum was developed to present the gospel, beginning in Genesis, to all generations; to train believers to know, obey, and defend God’s Word; and to encourage believers to become conformed to the image of Christ.

Unit Goal:

Kids learn about the first part Jesus' ministry on earth.

Memory Verses:

Isaiah 61:1 ESV The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

John 3:36 ESV Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Key teaching points of this WEEKS lesson:

March 8th:

Topic: Jesus Is Rejected in Nazareth - A prophet has no honor in his hometown.

Focus: As Jesus began to teach throughout Galilee, those in his hometown of Nazareth refused to believe his message, recognizing him only as the son of Joseph. Jesus encountered many others who believed he was the Son of God. Some gladly accepted his message and began to follow him, while others refused to trust in him for salvation.

Memory Verse: John 3:36 - Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

More Passages to Explore: Luke 4:16–22, 28–30, 33–35; John 4:49–53

March 15th:

Topic: Jesus Cares for the Sick - Jesus heals a leper and a paralytic.

Focus: Jesus was compassionate and loving toward people who were sick. He often showed his compassion by healing them. But this was not the main reason Jesus healed. Jesus healed so others would see the power of God in him, and God would be glorified. Not only did Jesus heal physical disease, but he was able to forgive sins—healing men’s souls for all eternity!

Memory Verse:

John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
