Answers Bible Curriculum Unit 14

Discover What Your Child is Learning

Answers Bible Curriculum was developed to present the gospel, beginning in Genesis, to all generations; to train believers to know, obey, and defend God’s Word; and to encourage believers to become conformed to the image of Christ.

Unit Goal:

Kids learn about the first part Jesus' ministry on earth.

Memory Verses:

Isaiah 61:1 ESV The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

John 3:36 ESV Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Key teaching points of this WEEKS lesson:

March 29th:

Topic: Jesus Heals on the Sabbath - Jesus is lord of the Sabbath.

Focus: On several occasions, the Pharisees objected to Jesus’ actions on the Sabbath. When Jesus healed a lame man, they rebuked the man for carrying his mat on the Sabbath. The Pharisees claimed Jesus’ disciples should not pluck grain to eat on the Sabbath. Jesus said he is lord of the Sabbath. Then he healed a man with a withered hand to reveal his authority over the Sabbath.

Memory Verse: John 3:36 - Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

K-2nd Grade Class

---------------------------

Topic: Jesus Rose from the Dead - Jesus conquered death when he rose from the grave.

Focus: Jesus was crucified and placed in a tomb, but on the third day he rose from the dead! He appeared to Mary, his disciples, and other followers to show he had risen. Jesus’ death and resurrection conquered sin and death so we can have forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life in heaven with God.

Memory Verse: John 11:25 - Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.”

More Passages to Explore: Matthew 27:65–66; John 20:19

3rd - 5th Grade Class

------------------------------

Topic: Discerning the Truth - The Bible gives infallible evidence that Jesus rose from the dead.

Focus: The accounts of Jesus’ death and resurrection are foundational to the gospel message. Although skeptics have come up with theories to try to explain or deny these events, no theory can account for the facts that Jesus died, rose from the dead, and appeared to many witnesses to confirm what happened.

Memory Verse: Matthew 28:6 - He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.
